Couture Vs Vera Countdown

November 14th, 2009

The Couture Vs Vera event is now just a few hours away, so I figured I’d throw some words up here in case anyone wanted some help passing the time until the event started. I’ll take a look at a few of the main fights, chit chat about the fighters’ histories and try not to sing…

Fedor Vs Rogers Aftermath

November 11th, 2009

A lot of the talk in recent days has centered around Fedor and Rogers (which is understandable), but let us not forget that there were a lot of other great fighters on the card. I’d like to take a more in-depth look at several of the fighters on the card and see where they might go from here…

Fedor Vs Rogers Countdown

November 7th, 2009

I should be happier. Most days I should be happier, but today I should be even happier. Sadly, I’m finding myself more worried than excited. In just a few short hours one of the best MMA fighters in the world is going to compete on “network” tv along with a host of other great MMA fighters. So why aren’t I more excited?

Shogun Vs Machida – Closure

October 31st, 2009

In the last week or so I’ve sat down several times to try to talk about something (anything!) other than Shogun Vs Machida. Sadly, the voices in my head aren’t getting any quieter and I’m really starting to get behind on other things. In an attempt to appease the voices and hopefully purge this whole thing from my mind I’m going to just rant away. Some of this is old news, some might not be. Either way, I hope that after this at least I will be able to leave it all behind…

MMA Rankings Update 091006

October 6th, 2009

Quick Ranking update with some recent(ish) MMA events.

Sadly I’m still very sick with no sign of a hot redheaded nurse in sight. 8(

However, since I updated the mma rankings and some have asked for a bit more of a “recap” at times when I do it, here we go…

Kimbo Slice is not a disappointment

October 2nd, 2009

I should probably add “to me” at the end of the title. There is no doubt many are disappointed with Kimbo as following this week’s TUF episode I saw a whole new round of Kimbo hate start to circulate. I am far from a Kimbo Slice nuthugger, but I am left a little confused at this point by some of the Kimbo Slice hate going around. There is no doubt Kimbo’s performance wasn’t amazing, but was there any real reason to expect it to be?

Make no mistake about it, I am very disappointed. I’m disappointed with some promoters, I’m disappointed with some sites and I’m really disappointed with some “fans”. Overall though, I really don’t see a reason to be disappointed by Kimbo.

Instead of just blindly bashing on Kimbo I’d like to take an honest look at his career thus far and see why Kimbo Slice is overrated.

MMA Ranking System – For Beginners

September 23rd, 2009

It never ceases to amaze me how little accurate information some people need to start opening their mouths. The amount of wrong information I see regarding the MMA rankings on this site and the ranking system used are insane. How about we wipe the slate clean and start from the very beginning…

Inside the rankings 090920

September 20th, 2009

The site is now updated with several recent events. In looking over the rankings I noticed a few things that stood out to me and thought I might explore them in a bit more detail. Usually if something jumps out at me then I figure others have questions as well.

Do keep in mind that everything on this site is there for a reason, so if I don’t address a specific question you have, please feel free to ask.
